Customer situation
Since 2014, M.Video has been consistently implementing omnichannel customer strategy to offer customers streamlined experience independent of the channel of their choice. The Group pursues the ONE RETAIL business model, which uses a shared online platform to bring together all customer touchpoints (website, apps, stores) which is easily accessible via a smartphone. This requires a huge effort in terms of IT transformation and covers almost all business applications.

In 2018, M.Video used three business applications storing customer data: e-commerce website, loyalty program, and mobile application with tens of millions of records in each of them.
Problem
Having customer data scattered across three systems was causing record duplication and issues with tracking customer activity. What's more, infrastructure was causing barriers to provide better omnichannel user experience, caused some negative feedback from M.Video customers, and required high maintenance costs.
Solution
In 2018, itMegastar won a tender announced by M.Video for implementation of the Identity and Access Management Platform based on OpenAM and Open DJ. Since months after a contract was signed, the solution was fully delivered. However, project scope went far beyond the implementation only. itMegastar integrated the system into e-commerce website, mobile application, loyalty program, SAP, and other multiple applications. Solution was deployed in a high availability cluster along with disaster recovery configuration, and load balancing to support high load. With time, project scope was also expanded to include implementation of the health monitoring solution on ELK stack.
Results
Successful and timely implementation of the IM and AM helped M.Video further perfect in development of the ONE RETAIL program. What's more, it helped improve overall user experience. itMegastar is currently offering 2nd and 3rd level of support to M.Video, as well as an ongoing platform development.
